Whatever It Takes
In 2002 the agency made a trip to the Cayman Islands to make a presentation to the Cayman Island Water Authority to get a large bond accepted for one of our key customers when the Fronting Company bailed out. The surety had exhausted all their options and had given up on providing a bond. The agency convinced the owner to accept a non-admitted bond, the contractor was awarded the $18,000,000 contract and the project was a huge success.

We have negotiated with several different government agencies to get them to accept less onerous bond forms (95.11 3c) and sureties with Best rating of A – in order to assist our clients.

We have made presentations to owners and selection committees on behalf of our customers to assist in the procurement of contracts.


Teaming
Recommend joint ventures when we can put good companies together. We understand both partners, their strengths & weaknesses and what is fair & reasonable. We have done a great number of these without ever having one go bad. One unique joint venture involved putting together a General Contractor & Asphalt Paver for paving roads on the Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Refer subs and prime contractors to one another when we feel it is a good fit for both. We recently introduced one of our site contractors to one of our GCs, which resulted in a $6,000,000 subcontract.


Escrow Agent
Served as an escrow agent where we were concerned about the ability for a private owner from California to pay our contractor. Our agency held the money for the draw and made the first payment to the contractor on a quick turning project.


Investigations/Reference Checks
Assist in the pre-qualification of subcontractors for our prime contractors.
Check out private owners as far as reputation and their ability to pay.


Network of Professionals
We have an extensive network of reputable professionals around the state that we work with including: CPAs, Attorneys, Consultants, Estate Planners and Software providers. We work closely with 1 of only 7 “pure” insurance consultants in the state to assist our clients with their insurance program.

Assisted in hiring of key personnel by referring bookkeepers/controllers to clients. We have participated in the actual interviews for controller & CFO positions along with our customers.


Market Intelligence
Our agency has tremendous cumulative knowledge of the Florida construction market. We know those contractors, developers and owners with skeletons in the closet and those people to stay away from.


Superior Submissions
Most agents request a bond and simply pass on the response from the surety to their customers. We greatly influence the bond approval process by making excellent submissions to the sureties on behalf of our customers and making sound recommendations for supporting the needs of the contractor.

Additionally, because of our position in the industry, we meet and maintain relationships with the Senior Executives of the Sureties that we represent. It is not typical in our industry to have these high level relationships.
